P7 Radar Centre

On Monday 11th March the Year Seven pupils from Saint Joseph’s Primary School and Blackmountain Primary School got a great opportunity to visit the RADAR Centre (Risk Avoidance and Danger Awareness Resource) as part of their Shared Education Programme. Radar is Northern Ireland’s first and only, life sized, interactive safety and life skills education centre. The children discussed looking after our local parks and having respect for facilities within our communities. The children explored road safety, finding safe places to cross and keeping safe on busy roads. We explored the importance of wearing seat belts and how to behave when travelling on a bus or train. We also discussed the importance of staying safe at home and when using social media. The children took part in interactive, informative and fun workshops giving them the opportunity to explore everyday dangers in a risk free setting. The Radar Centre inspired, engaged, informed and educated our Year Seven pupils. A great day was had by all.
