Supporting families with children at risk of ADHD

23rd Apr 2018

What is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)?

Many children have difficulty concentrating, sitting still or may act before they think. However, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neuro-developmental disorder characterised by inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity which causes significant difficulties throughout many aspects of a child’s life, including their family, school and social life.

ADHD is one of the most common disorders of childhood, estimated to effect 5.29% of children.  Some children may experience behaviours that are consistent with ADHD, however this does not always mean that they will go on to be diagnosed with ADHD.

We are holding a parent information and awareness session to discuss your concerns on Wed 16th May.

A psychologist will also be present and will provide a screening programme for parents who have concerns.

Families of children who screen as experiencing behaviour consistent with ADHD will be offered a place on our programme.

Where can I get more information? See CAROLINE MORELLI as soon as possible as places are limited.
