Children's Commissioner visit to school ✍️
We were delighted to welcome Chris Quinn, the Children’s and Young People’s Commissioner in the North of Ireland, to our school today.
Chris spoke to our pupils about how he represents the rights and interests of children and young people through a rights-based approach at local, regional and international levels. His role is to be a strong champion for children, ensuring that their voices are heard and that their needs are considered in government policy decisions and funding priorities.
Our pupils greatly enjoyed hearing Chris speak about his role and his journey to becoming the Children’s Commissioner, and it was a wonderful opportunity for them to learn more about how their rights are protected and promoted.
In our school, we value opportunities to discuss the rights set out in the children’s charter, helping our pupils understand the importance of protection, equality and fair treatment for every child.
Our children deserve to have their voices heard and their rights respected. Thank you to Chris for taking the time to visit and inspire our pupils today. 🌍📢✨
