National Story Telling Week 📖

16th Feb 2026
Our Primary 5 children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a special storytelling session as part of National Storytelling Week 📖✨

Storytelling plays such an important role in developing children’s literacy skills. Through listening to and sharing stories, our pupils strengthen their vocabulary, improve their comprehension, and learn how to structure their own ideas clearly and creatively. Most importantly, storytelling sparks imagination 🌟 ✍️ encouraging children to think beyond the page, create characters, build settings, and explore new worlds.

Creative writing allows our children to find their voice, express their thoughts and feelings, and develop confidence in communicating with others. When children engage with stories, they are not just learning to read and write 🤔 they are learning to think critically, empathise with others, and become lifelong learners.

Well done to our wonderful P5 storytellers for their enthusiasm and fantastic participation! 📚💬
