P2 Harvest time 🍎 🍏

5th Sep 2025
At our school, we plant apple trees in our outdoor space so that children can watch them grow, blossom, and eventually harvest apples straight from the branches. 🍎🍏 Our pupils help with planting, watering, and caring for the trees throughout the year, turning our playground into a living classroom.

📚 Educational Benefits

1. Science in Action 🔬 – Children learn about plant life cycles, pollination, seasons, and sustainability in a hands-on way.

2. Responsibility & Care 🌱 – Looking after trees helps pupils develop patience, responsibility, and teamwork.

3. Healthy Living 🥗 – Harvesting and tasting their own apples encourages healthy eating and an appreciation for fresh, local produce.

4. Outdoor Learning ☀️ – Being outside boosts wellbeing, curiosity, and creativity.

5. Community & Legacy 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 – Trees grow for many years, creating a lasting legacy for current and future pupils to enjoy.
