P4 archaeologists 🪨🔎
23rd Apr 2026
Another fantastic day of discovery for our Primary 4 pupils as they continued their exciting archaeological research alongside the archaeology team from Queen's University 🪨 🔍
Working on the live excavation site at Grosvenor Road, our children had a unique, hands-on opportunity to step into the role of real archaeologists. They carefully explored the site, learning how to uncover, handle, and examine artefacts with patience and precision. 🧱🪨
Throughout the day, our pupils developed important skills such as observation, teamwork, and critical thinking, all while deepening their understanding of local history. The experts from Queen's University Belfast shared their knowledge and passion, inspiring our young learners to ask questions, make predictions, and think about how people lived in the past. 💭📜
This incredible experience not only brought history to life but also showed the children how exciting learning outside the classroom can be. We are so proud of their enthusiasm, curiosity, and respect for such an important historical site. 🌟
A truly memorable day for our P4s—who knows, we may have some future archaeologists in the making! 🏺✨
