Tomorrow we celebrate Pancake Tuesday (also known as Shrove Tuesday )as we prepare to begin the season of Lent. ✝️🥞
Traditionally, this day was a time to use up rich ingredients like eggs, milk and sugar before the simpler season of Lent began. It’s a lovely opportunity to talk with children about new beginnings, reflection and making positive choices, while also enjoying a delicious treat together!
🥞 Easy Pancake Recipe (Perfect for Home!)
You will need:
100g plain flour
2 eggs
300ml milk
1 tbsp oil (plus extra for frying)
Pinch of salt
Simple Steps:
1. Put the flour and salt into a bowl.
2. Make a well in the centre and crack in the eggs.
3. Gradually whisk in the milk until you have a smooth batter.
4. Stir in the oil.
5. Heat a little oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
6. Pour in a small ladle of batter and swirl to coat the pan.
7. Cook for about 1 minute until golden, flip, and cook the other side.
8. Serve with your favourite toppings 🍋 lemon and sugar, syrup, fruit or chocolate spread! 🍫 🍓
