Re-imaging of the Westlink Footbridge

McAdam Design are currently exploring the renovation of the Westlink Footbridge which spans the Westlink from Barrack Street / Durham Street in the St Mary’s area to Cullingtree Road in the Divis area.

It has been reported that the bridge is underused due, in the main, to ongoing incidents of anti-social behaviour; the vicinity of the bridge is prone to litter and graffiti and the bridge itself is unwelcoming to users.

We would appreciate any comments, ideas and general feedback in terms of how the appearance and safety of the footbridge can be improved. I have included some images to help focus your mind on how the bridge could look. Please see Caroline Morelli over the next few days to share your views.
