Using our Easter Eggs for our maths investigation 🔎 🥚
16th Apr 2026
😀Putting our Easter eggs to good use 🧺Today Year 2 went on an Easter egg hunt. We were split into 4 teams. We negotiated a leader who would carry the basket.
🧺 We gathered the eggs up and put into our team basket. On returning to class we counted how many plastic eggs each team collected and recorded.
🧺Then we opened the plastic eggs and counted the total amount of chocolate eggs each team collected. We noticed that there were more chocolate eggs than plastic eggs.
➕ ️➖️ This was a great opportunity to explore mathematical concepts and use mathematical language e.g. counting, more than, less than, odd and even, addition and subtraction. Great learning achieved by all in Year 2 😃 Smiles and giggles all around 😀
