Young raiders in P6 🛡

18th Sep 2025
🛡️⚔️ Shield up! Primary 6 are unleashing their inner Vikings with these epic handmade shields! 🎨🔥

When did the Vikings did come to Ireland? ⛵ Around 1,200 years ago, the vikings sailed across the sea from places like Norway and Denmark in their longships.

At first, they came to raid monasteries and towns, but later they began to stay and build settlements. In fact, they founded some of Ireland’s biggest cities, like Dublin, Wexford, and Limerick.

The Vikings brought new skills, trade, and ideas, and their influence is still part of Ireland’s history today.
